Domaine Julien Sunier, despite not coming from a wine family, has emerged as one of the most thrilling winemakers in Beaujolais. After working with renowned winemaker Christophe Roumier, Sunier developed a passion for wine and embarked on a globe-trotting adventure, working harvests in different wine regions. His experiences solidified his interest in organic and biodynamic viticulture.

In 2008, Sunier established his own domaine. Currently, the domaine consists of nine hectares of vineyards spanning the prestigious Cru villages of Fleurie, Morgon, and Régnié. These vineyards are located across three protected designations of origin within Beaujolais. He converted these vineyards to organic viticulture, employing whole cluster fermentations with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats to maintain the fresh fruit flavors and delicate tannin structure. Aging in Burgundy barrels from his friend Roumier, Sunier's wines exude purity and elegance, with hints of Chambolle and Morey influence.

Julien Sunier Fleurie Village 2023

A seductive Fleurie raised like a great Burgundy, this wine captivates with brilliant purity. The nose bursts with violets and iris interwoven with vibrant red berries, wild strawberries and raspberries. On the palate, electric freshness dominates, weaving purity and crisp minerality in perfect harmony. Cellar a few years to unlock even greater depth and pleasure.
