Established in 2006 through the acquisition of historic Haegelan-Jayer vines in Vosne-Romanée, Domaine Laurent Pere et Fils is a beacon of Burgundian excellence. Led by Jean Laurent, son of renowned négociant Dominique Laurent, the domaine spans 12 hectares, including 4 hectares in Côte de Beaune. Its portfolio features premier cru sites in Nuits-Saint-Georges and Pommard, alongside prestigious grands crus such as Échezeaux and Clos Vougeot.
The domaine's winemaking philosophy sets it apart, employing 30-70% whole clusters during vinification to infuse wines with vibrant complexity and structure. This contrasts sharply with the Maison’s style, a rare duality in Burgundy that harmoniously complements their offerings. Oak is used judiciously for a lighter influence, enhancing purity and finesse.
The domaine practices organic viticulture, underscoring its dedication to sustainability. These terroirs and techniques yield wines of remarkable distinction, embodying the essence of Burgundy’s finest expressions.
Domaine Laurent Pere et Fils Bourgogne Cuvee MCMXXVI 2023
The 2023 vintage runs slightly warmer and rounder, so the palate gains a touch more generosity (ripe plum, spiced pomegranate alongside the signature red cherry and cranberry) while keeping the same lively acidity and refined tannin structure. The nose stays true to the house style with rose petal and earthy forest floor, but the fruit expression is fractionally more open and approachable on release.
