Former pastry chef turned winemaker, Dominique Laurent, embarked on his Negociant journey in 1988, enowned for offering a diverse range of appellations in limited quantities.
His philosophy centers on exceptional vineyards, especially old vines, overseeing every step from vineyard to bottle. Passionate about oak, he founded his cooperage, sourcing Troncais wood for finest barrels, supplying esteemed winemakers. Despite past critiques of oak dominance, recent endorsements, like Allan Meadows', show evolving winemaking style, gaining newfound appreciation for Laurent's unique terroir expressions. In 2006, he expanded with his own Domaine, further enriching the world of wine with his distinctive approach.
Dominique Laurent Marsannay Village Champs Salomon 2021
This wine displays a beautifully ripe yet vibrant bouquet, marked by pronounced cassis and plum liqueur notes. On the palate, it offers medium-bodied density with impressive richness, lively raciness, and a spicy, velvety texture that coats the mouth. The finish is long, layered, and persistent. Approachable in its youth, it promises to evolve beautifully with 5–10 years of careful cellaring.
